New Contracts for Stranraer Roofing Firm
MAJOR Stranraer employer South-West Roofing Services have just landed three major contracts.
And Joint Managing Director Hugh Gracie told the Free Press this week:
"It is looking like we have close on £9 million on the order book at the present".
Two contracts are worth nearly £2.4 million alone.
In two weeks' time, they will begin an 18 months contract to re-roof and re-render Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership homes in the east of the region from Sanquhar to Annan as part of a modernisation programme. Some of the 93-strong workforce based in Stranraer will be involved.
Already started is a £750,000 contract to re-roof 125 houses for East Ayrshire Council in the Newmilns and Kilmarnock areas which will run until May of next year and which will also involve labour from Stranraer.
Workers from the town are also on the Isle of Arran at present on a £250,000 contract there.
And starting next year, the company have won a contract from housebuilders Wimpey involving more than 100 homes.
