Casino Consultation Call

THE PEOPLE of Wigtown District should decide if Stranraer seafront should have a casino.

That's the view of Stranraer branch of the SNP.  And if plans for a casino are resurrected the council should give every member of the community a vote.

Fred Murray, speaking on behalf of the branch members said: 

"There are clearly strong views on both sides of this argument.  I have heard many people say they are for it and many against it.  The same is true for all our members.

"If the plans for a casino on the waterfront are resurrected, then there needs to be proper consultation this time round. The people who live in Stranraer and indeed the whole of Wigtown district are the ones that will be most affected by the development of Stranraer waterfront.

"That is why they should not only have a say on what happens there, but also a vote on whether or not a casino should be built".
