Stranraer Junction Danger
A NINE-year-old boy has become the third child to be knocked down at a dangerous Stranraer junction.
Now Rhys Hannay's mother Angie is calling on the council to make immediate upgrades before someone else is hurt.
She has a petition signed by residents in Rosefield Avenue backing her fight to improve the juntion with Glebe Street.
Angie said:
"If something is not done it's just a matter of time before there is a serious road accident or a child or even an adult is seriously injured."
Park Primary pupils Rhys was taken to hospital after he was knocked down.
Thankfully the extent of his injuries was only tissue damage to his elbow and knee.
But his mum said that was more down to the speed the car was going at and the driver.
Angie, of 3 Rosefield Gardens, said:
"It could have been a lot worse. If the lady driving had not taken evasive action or if it had been someone younger driving a lot faster then Rhys could have been badly hurt."
