Stranraer Shoplifter Ban

SHOPLIFTERS are facing a widespread ban from stores in Stranraer if they are caught stealing in just one.

A new initiative — known as Stranraer Radio Link Partnership — unites shopkeepers in a group similar to the idea behind the successful Pub Watch.

Any shoplifters caught stealing from one of the Radio Link premises will automatically be excluded from the rest.

And the group has stressed there are no exceptions to the rule.

The ban will be enforced for an initial six months but if the person tries to enter a shop in that time they will be banned for a further six.

All the Radio Link premises will have a list of people banned through the scheme.
