New York Prize Trip

STRANRAER'S Wilma Rice has won a free trip to New York with her pals thanks to a holiday prize draw run by the town's football club.

The lucky fan was already to get her cheque book out to pay for the £450 three-night holiday to the Big Apple.

But two days before payment was due her luck came in when her ticket was drawn out of the hat.

She was stunned to find out the £600 prize would more than cover her trip away in November and give her a bit of extra spending money. Wilma said:

"My win came at just the right time and I'll be sure to enjoy the holiday."

Stranraer FC's draw is in association with Thomas Cook. February's draw winner was Anne Moffat, of Portpatrick.
