Stranraer Academy Second Phase Plans Submitted
Plans have been submitted for the second phase development of
Stranraer Academy.
On behalf of Amey Ventures Ltd of Glasgow, the company doing the job,
architects from Newcastle-upon-Tyne have registered plans with
Dumfries and Galloway Council planning department in Stranraer.
The work includes some demolition work, extensions to the school and
associated parking and landscaping work.
Local councillor Robert Higgins said: “It is good at last to see
firm and positive steps being taken for the final stage of the
Stranraer Academy rebuild.
“I welcome the lodging of the planning application by Amey Ventures
Ltd. Ten years has been to long a wait but I trust that on completion
we will have a building fit for purpose for the students of our area
for a long time to come”.
