Portpatrick Family Raise £30,000 For Hospice Association
A PORTPATRICK family have raised more than £30,000 for Children’s
Hospice Association Scotland.
And on Friday in a ceremony in the village, the Ritchies, Ian, wife
Rosemary and son Iain had their achievement recognised by CHAS with
the award of medals.
As Portpatrick Friends of CHAS, they have supported the charity for
over ten years, raising the cash mainly through their Easter
Truckpull event which attracted thousands to the village.
The medals were presented by Roslyn Neely, CHAS Director of
Fundraising and Communication and Debbie Traynor, CHAS Fundraiser.
Debbie said: “This Friends’ Group is one family and they are
incredible. Since the first appeal went out to help create a
children’s hospice in Scotland, they have raised £30,000 for CHAS and
thousands more for local causes in Wigtownshire.
“We are celebrating the family's achievements by presenting Rosemary
and Ian Ritchie and their son Iain with ten year volunteering award
medals as a small token of our appreciation for everything they have
done for CHAS”.
