Anger at Minister Snub

A GOVERNMENT Minister has stunned local councillors by refusing to meet with them to discuss the Waterfront Regeneration project, but agreeing to meet with Wigtown Chamber of Commerce over the proposed casino.

MSP Jim Mather, Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism, had been invited to meet Wigtownshire councillors to discuss the possibility of the Stranraer Waterfront becoming a national priority.

The MSP replied in July saying it would be unhelpful for the Government to give support to local regeneration projects such as the Stranraer Waterfront.
