NHS Promise No Hospital Downgrade

A TOP NHS boss has promised local councillors and residents there is absolutely no chance of the Galloway Community Hospital being downgraded.

The pledge was made by Dumfries and Galloway Medical Director, Dr Angus Cameron, at a meeting of the Wigtown Area Committee in Stranraer on Tuesday night.

It comes after the NHS gave the Stranraer-based hospital a £120,000 cash injection to solve the problem of staff shortages.
