Councillors keep watchful eye on
hospital
COUNCILLORS have vowed to fight any notion of downgrading
the Galloway Community Hospital.
NHS bosses agreed last week to give a £120,000 cash
boost to the Stranraer-based hospital, after staff shortages
forced the accident and emergancy department to treat only
minor injuries.
However, an option to downgrade the hospital was mentioned
in a report at the last health board meeting in Dumfries.
