NHS Pledge Safe Future of Stranraer Hospital

COUNCILLORS have been told the future of the Galloway Community Hospital's Accident and Emergency Unit is safe.

Members of the Wigtown Area Committee met with NHS officials on Thursday to discuss the future after £120,000 was needed to prevent a downgrade of the department.

Chairman of the Area Committee Councillor Graham Nicol said it was a positive meeting and he thanked the NHS for attending.
