Churches Join Against Casino
WIGTOWNSHIRE churches have joined the fight against a casino proposed for Stranraer waterfront.
The Church of Scotland's Presbytery of Wigtown and Stranraer has decided to "add its own voice" to the campaigners against a casino development.
The Presbytery aims to encourage Dumfries and Galloway Council to bring forward proposals for the economic regeneration of the area that do not involve a casino in Stranraer.
They will also formally write to the council officers making clear the opposition of the Presbytery.
