Stena Takes Steps Towards New Port

STENA Line has taken the first steps towards building a new port at Old House Point near Cairnryan.

The ferry operator this week sent out what is called a scoping report to over 30 groups and organisations outlining their initial plans.

From this an environmental impact assessment will be made that would then lead to a harbour empowerment order.

The move follows months of investigations at the site ten kilometres north of Stranraer to see if it was suitable.
