Stranraer FC Ex-Chairman told he Deserved Jail
FORMER Stranraer Football Club chairman Jim Bark has been told his attempts to defraud the club he was involved with for 40 years deserved a prison sentence.
Bark (59) was ordered to carry out 250 hours' unpaid work for the community when he appeared for sentence at Kirkcudbright Sheriff Court.
He admitted forming a fraudulent scheme to obtain £1000 from the club's weekly lottery draw.
Bark was told by Sheriff Kenneth Hogg that after his long service to the club his conduct had seen a spectacular fall from grace.
The Sheriff said it was an offence against the community as well as the club and merited a jail sentence.
