WORLD-renowned Developer Shows Interest in Waterfront
A WORLD-renowned developer has lodged an interest in the future of Stranraer waterfront.
The unnamed company has begun tentative talks with both Dumfries and Galloway Council and Stena Line. But these are at such a sensitive stage that details remain top secret.
A report revealing the developer's interest was handed out to a number of councillors at a meeting in Dumfries on Tuesday — then promptly collected back in. But Councillor Robert Higgins revealed:
"If this comes off it will be major for Stranraer and something most certainly to look forward to."
The developer is understood to have carried out a review of potential sites for development in Scotland with Stranraer emerging as one of the prime locations.
Now the developer, the council and Stena Line are said to be moving towards signing what is called a 90-day memorandum of understanding.
