Pressure Back on for More Regeneration Cash
PRESSURE for the proposed Stranraer Waterfront regeneration to be made a national priority is mounting after councillors agreed to lobby the Scottish Government.
Councillors met on Tuesday to discuss a motion tabled by Councillors Willie Scobie and Grahame Forster.
They called on the council to brand a proposed allocation of £400,000 for regeneration in the region as "woefully inadequate" and demand the Government review the figure.
Councillors, including the SNP, backed the move.
The agreement comes as a council spokeswoman confirmed the council was also looking at the interest of an international developer in the waterfront as a priority.
