Local Film Focuses on BAFTA
A SHORT film starring a 73-year-old weightlifting champion from Stranraer has been nominated for a Scottish BAFTA.
Ma Bar was directed and produced by former Douglas Ewart pupil Adrian McDowall, along with Finlay Pretsell and features the exploits of age defying bench-pressing pensioner Bill McFadyen.
It is one of three films nominated in the short film category. A delighted Adrian said:
"We were trying to create something that would inspire and amaze and that is reflected in Bill McFadyen - a truly inspiring individual."
