Storm Brews Over Marina Safety Fears

STRANRAER Waterfront's new showpiece marina is at the centre of a storm less than a fortnight after its official opening when it emerged that the facility may not be safe to use.

Force Eight winds wreaked havoc with some of the boats that were moored in the harbour last week, causing them to be lashed about and collide with the pontoons and even other boats.

As a result, some boat owners have taken the precaution of removing their vessels from the facility, fearing they may be damaged if further high winds hit the area.
