Legal Case May Kelp in Post Office Battle
THE STRUGGLE to save Wigtownshire Post Offices was given a dramatic boost this week after it emerged some closures may be against the law.
The revelation comes after Sussex pensioner Judy Brown launched a High Court battle against Post Office Limited claiming the closures were illegal because they discriminate against disabled people.
Post Office Ltd recently confirmed local people's worst fears by announcing that Sheuchan Street PO would be shut down and branches in Kirkcowan and Creetown would be downgraded as part of the nationwide closure programme.
