Council under heavy fire in Audit Report

AN AUDIT into Dumfries and Galloway Council this week warns it faces significant challenges to improve on "serious weaknesses".

The report, which has caused controversy over the last month after a section of it was leaked to a newspaper in the east, was finally made public on Wednesday.

And, while the local authority is praised in a number of sections, it comes in for heavy criticism for the leadership of both councillors and senior managers.
