Councillor could pay cost for Court Loss
A COUNCILLOR could be facing a costly legal bill after losing a civil case in which he was accused of having a "personal vendetta" against the region's largest social landlord.
Stranraer and North Rhins' Willie Scobie is getting legal advice after being told he might have to meet the costs of representing Elizabeth Allison in a small claims matter regarding damage to a washing machine.
And Miriam Hall, acting for Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership, who successfully defended the case, said the landlord receives between 200 to 300 complaints from Mr Scobie each year and accused him of having an "axe to grind" with DGHP.
