£7.3m dual carriageway for A75

A NEW £7.3 million stretch of dual carriageway is to be opened on the A75 within two years.

The 2.3 kilometre (1.4 mile) section from Cairntop to Barlae, between Glenluce and Kirkcowan, will provide overtaking lanes in both directions.

A new eastbound carriageway will be made, with the existing road becoming the dedicated westbound section.
