Council Back Stena Line's Port Bid

STENA Line's bid to start construction of its new £70 million port at Old House Point at Cairnryan won the full backing of councillors yesterday (Wednesday).

The ferry giant needs a Harbour Empowerment Order (HEO) approved by the Scottish Government before it can begin work on the new Loch Ryan Port.

And the Area Committee yesterday agreed to lobby the Government on Stena's behalf.
