Woman of the Year selected

TV PRESENTER, journalist and writer Kaye Adams visited Stranraer this week to present the annual Wigtownshire Woman of the Year award.

Helen Dodds picked up the prestigious prize at an emotional event in the North West Castle on Wednesday.

The event, now in its fifth year and hosted by Wigtownshire Women's Aid, recognises the achievements of women in rural communities - where they can often be forgotten.
