Actor Jonny Smith joins filming of BBC Scotland's drama

Jonny is a member of the Ryan Centre Youth Theatre and was selected for the part of Little Gerry Kennedy at a special audition.

He told the 'Free Press'

"I was a bit nervous when I came but I suppose that is natural."

Jonny is taking his chance, however, to learn as much of the trade as possible as he hopes to continue as an actor when he is older.

The production crew have been filming on the drama 'Two Thousand Acres of Sky' for a fortnight. Main star Michelle Collins admitted she has not had much of a chance to visit the surrounding area.

"It is my first time in the area but I have not had much time off", she said.

"The area though is very nice and is a big change and I like being on location".

Paul Kaye has quickly fallen in love with the local sights and said he intends to try and see a lot more. The star, best known for his role as Dennis Pennis, told the 'Free Press' on the set

"We were down at the Mull of Galloway filming and that was stunning. I'll certainly try and get back down there because it was a nice place to walk".
