Invitation to join the STI Ltd Board of Directors

The Stranraer, Portpatrick and Cairnryan STI Company Ltd has been formed to continue the successful work of the STI Steering Group and is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the Board.

The overall aim of STI nationally is to "provide focused assistance to boost local businesses and enhance the environment of small towns across Scotland." Locally the challenge is to best manage economic development activity to fulfil this aim. STI Ltd strategy has been developed in order to address 4 objectives:

• Business Development
• Inclusive Economy and Quality of Life
• Marketing and Events
• Physical Development and the Environment

The new Board will meet monthly and will work with a wide range of Public, Private and Third sector organisations in achieving these objectives. Board members will receive no remuneration, but specific expenses may be reimbursed.

Applications are invited from individuals, resident or with a business interest in the Stranraer, Portpatrick and Cairnryan area. Appointments are expected to be for a fixed term of two years, commencing in March 2000, with the possibility of renewal for a further term.
