Massive
Boost for Xmas-Lights
CAMPAIGN to
raise cash for Christmas lights in Stranraer has received
a massive boost - a £2000 scooter to be used as a fundraiser.
Elaine Mann,
projects co-ordinator with Wigtown Council for Voluntary Service,
contacted Dunragit-based Aprilia to see if they would provide
a gift of some kind.
Their response
took her breath away - they came up with the scooter.
"We were really
taken aback when they offered us the scooter", Elaine
told the 'Free Press'
" It is very generous".
Councillor
Willie Scobie, who is heavily involved in the lights project,
said he had spoken to Julie Reynolds, wife of the managing
director.
"She said they
were delighted to be involved", he revealed.
