A Dunragit First

DUNRAGIT machinist Rosemarie Allan has become the first person in Britain to gain a new vocational qualification.

Rosemarie, who lives at 11 Park Road and is now working at the Grasshopper childrenswear factory in Stranraer, gained her introductory industrial stitching certificate at the Textile Training Centre in Stranraer.

Last week she was presented with her award at the factory by Brian Pattinson, Chairman of Wigtown Rural Development Company, which runs the centre.
