And, while
Director of Finance at the Primary Care Trust Barrie
Small said that the Minister did not give a commitment
for funding, he told the 'Free Press' this week that
she was very positive about the plans. "She never gave
any firm commitment but I never thought she would because
it was not that kind of visit", he said.
"But,
she was very positive and supportive and liked the ideas
put forward. She was very taken with the project and
in particular with the innovations coming forward from
Stranraer.
"The
Minister also liked the technologies being introduced
and the concept of care at a local level but also using
new technology to cut down the distance of care".
While
at Dalrymple Hospital, the Minister got a chance to
look over the plans before moving onto the Dick's Hill
Community Project.
Today
the finishing touches will be put to the planning application,
which should bring a quick start to work on site.
