Man
Cleared of Murder
A STRANRAER
lawyer's six-year battle to clear a man of a murder charge
has been won.
And in the
process the three-strong team of which Margo Harvey was a
key player created legal history.
Almost 50 years
ago, Glasgow man Iain Hay Gordon, then a National Serviceman
in the Province, was convicted of stabbing to death the daughter
of a Northern Ireland judge.
Now, the Appeal
Court in Belfast has indicated they will overturn the conviction,
with full findings in writing later.
And this week,
Margo told the 'Free Press'
"It has been
the journey of a lifetime and a privilege to be involved".
She added
"Sometimes,
when we have been tired and there have been low points,
you think 'How are we going to move forward?' but every
time we have had a low point, something has happened and
we have always managed to make a breakthrough".
