Preparing for TV
PORTLOGAN is gearing up for an exciting summer having been
confirmed as the backdrop for a new television drama.. .

The
BBC confirmed the news that could bring millions of
pounds to the area just hours after the "Free Press"
revealed that the village was all but certain to be
chosen.

The
decision by production company Zenith Entertainment has been
welcomed by residents and tourism chiefs who see it as a chance
to raise the profile of both the Rhins and South West Scotland.
The
BBC Scotland drama '2000 Acres of Sky' featuring former
Eastenders star Michelle Collins will have a 12 week long
summer shoot.
Galloway
MP Alasdair Morgan has written to the production company and
offered any assistance that is required. He said
"This
is excellent news and I am delighted that Zenith Entertainment
feel that Portlogan is the perfect area for filming.
"The
Rhins of Galloway can be very atmospheric which would appear
to be just what the producers were looking for".
