Web Site Attracts an International Audience

Over 3000 individual customers have visited the Stranraer, Portpatrick and Cairnryan website in the 3 months since its launch, with visitors coming from all corners of the world, from over 25 countries, including Japan, Romania, Christmas Island, Trinidad and Tobago. Even the USA military have also been to see what we do in Stranraer!

As part of ongoing improvements to the site, STI manager Billy Mitchell announced that the "homepage" had been redesigned to allow faster access to information for regular users. Also under review was the "business directory" which provides free Web presence for businesses in the Stranraer area.

"We are getting lots of clients searching the business directory", said Billy, adding "From comments received we realised that we had to streamline the categories under which businesses are listed, so this is being addressed. Something that I am also keen to tackle is the fact that some local companies have missed out on the opportunity to be part of the Website. I ask them to contact me to arrange free listing."

New Events Officer Glen Murray will now contribute regularly to the site by providing up to the minute information about "what's on" locally.
