Redeveloping
Stranraer Academy - a Priority
REDEVELOPING
Stranraer Academy was confirmed as a priority in the council's
schools investment programme at a full council meeting in
Dumfries on Tuesday.
Councillors
met to finalise a business case to put to the Scottish Executive
and a bid for £95 million will be made.
And
Stranraer Academy topped a list of three secondary schools
and three primary schools targeted as key priority projects
for redevelopment in the future.
The
outline business case will be submitted to the Scottish Executive
towards the end of the week and the proposals contained within
it were all agreed by councillors after they were assured
that the bid was just a starting point for negotiations and
not a commitment to specific works.
