Stranraer
Anti-Drugs March
ORGANISERS of this weekends Stranraer anti-drugs march are
hoping for a turnout at least in the hundreds.
And
they have been boosted by the news that the cameras of Border
Television are expected to be covering the march and rally
which will follow on Castle Green.
March
organisers - who are now in the final stages of planning -
have issued an open invitation to those who wish to speak
at the rally on the Green.
They
hope that as many sections of the community as possible will
get involved and say that anyone who wishes to speak can do
so. The march will leave the old SeaCat terminal in Stranraer
- known as The Breastwork - this Saturday at 2 p.m.
Organisers
are hoping for a peaceful protest and there will be a police
presence on hand to make sure that order is maintained throughout
the day. After taking a short route through the town, the
marchers will gather for a rally on the Castle Green in George
Street.
And
the organisers received a further boost this week from the
Stranraer Chamber of Commerce.
They
have volunteered the use of the Millennium Centre in George
Street as a venue for the rally if the weather is poor on
the day.
