but not Stirred
but not stirred – that was how local man Massimo Lisi felt
when he heard that he had won a national cocktail competition.
almond flavoured "Amaretto Di Saronno" liqueur launched
the competition in a UK trade magazine asking entrants to
concoct a passion-themed cocktail for Valentine’s Day. And
Massimo won the prize of a trip for two to Milan, as well
as £500 spending money with his simple but delicious combination
runs L’Aperitif Restaurant in Stranraer and last year completed
a Higher National Diploma in hospitality management to add
to his many industry accolades. And by mixing the sweet flavour
of Amaretto with a dry sherry he beat off runners-up from
Edinburgh and Birmingham to win the competition.
his creation "Ti Ammo" also proved a clever move for
Massimo – as well as combining the names of the two main ingredients,
it is Italian for "I love you" and obviously ties in
rather well with the Valentine’s Day theme the competition
organisers had in mind..
