Car
Comp Winner
JANET SPROTT has just won a car — and she did not even realise
her name was in the competition.
Safeway
customer Janet, who lives in Mount Vernon Road, Stranraer,
picked up a brand new Fiat Seicento yesterday (Wednesday)
And as she told the Free Press, she was “over the moon”
when she finally discovered that she had won the car in the
Safeway — Free Press promotion prize draw held as part
of the store’s Italian Week in July.
“When
I went into the supermarket about a month ago the staff
were giving away prize tickets with various offers for 20
pence off washing powder for example”, she explained earlier
this week.
“When
I opened my ticket it said I had won a car. But I was in
such a rush that I handed the ticket in and thought nothing
of it. It is not the kind of thing that happens very often.
“So
when Fiat sent a letter to my husband towards the end of
last month to tell him that I had won a car, I said ‘och
away you go’. I did not believe him. It came as a big, big
surprise. I am absolutely overwhelmed especially as I have
never won anything before”.
