Motorcycle
Helmet Takes Show by Storm
A
STRANRAER-made motorcycle helmet has taken the Motorcycle
Show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham by storm.
Helmet
Integrated Systems Ltd were involved in their biggest-ever
launch of a helmet - the Vector - and could have sold £50,000
worth from their stand.
And
there are hopes that when the new helmet hits the streets
in January it will lead to more work at the Commerce Road
factory.
This
week, Barry Vincent, Business Manager in the Motorcycle and
Motorsport Division of the company told the "Free Press
"
The objective is the growth of the company which will in
turn lead to growth of the workforce".
Using
technology developed for helmets worn by military pilots,
the company, Britain's only motorbike helmet manufacturers,
have spent two years on the new product which is made of tri-composite
materials, glass fibre, kevlar and carbon fibre.
And
it exceeds by a margin all the new Pan European safety standards,
which allows sales throughout the Common Market and European
Free Trade Area.
