3rd
Prize at Inventor Challenge
PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL in Stranraer scooped third prize at the
national finals of the "Be an Inventor" challenge run by Glasgow
Science Centre with "School Stars", a board game based on
school life.
The
children took home £250 prize money to the school from the
awards ceremony last week at the new Glasgow Science Centre.
Four children and teacher Ms Sheila Baillie represented the
school at the ceremony and savoured their moment of triumph
when, in a nice twist, "School Stars" was awarded the prize
money by Kevin Mellett, a NASA engineer, as well as the sponsors
Enterasys.
"The children were absolutely chuffed to bits",
she
said
"and they are ready to make their first million. We have
already entered into discussions with a company developing
board games so who knows"?
