Family
are hoping for a Christmas miracle
A
STRANRAER FAMILY are hoping for a Christmas miracle - the
return home of an elderly member who suffers from dementia.
Seventy-six-years-old
Mrs Josephine Sullivan is in a home in Dumfries. All she wants
is to be back in her home town, to be visited by her father,
her brothers and other family members.
And
her daughter Frances Dooley and her grand-daughter Joy Duncan
are doing what they can - they have even called in a lawyer
- to have her wish granted.
For
they claim that Mrs Sullivan, in spite of the fact that officials
say her memory has gone, knows she is in Dumfries and does
not like it.
But
they say the same officials deny there is a place for her
in Stranraer.
And
because most of her relations live in Stranraer, all find
it difficult to visit, some because they are too old and others
because they cannot afford the fares.
