Former
power-lifting champion wins
pools
FORMER
world power-lifting champion Raymond Fraser made a lift with
a difference last week - a cheque for over six thousand pounds.
Lucky
Raymond (52) won a whopping £6354.80 when his numbers
came up on the Rangers' pools.
Last
week he travelled up to Ibrox to collect the cheque and was
taken by car from the stadium to the club's new training complex
at Auchenhowie.
He was given a guided tour before receiving his cheque from
Rangers' Italian defender Lorenzo Amoruso.
Raymond,
who lives at Oakland Avenue in Stranraer, won the world power-lifting
championship in 1999 and was picked for the British team competing
in Canada at the moment.
Costs
involved in the trip, including the time Raymond would have
had to take off from his job as a joiner, persuaded him to
decline the offer of travelling to Canada.
Now
he is looking forward to next year's championships in Argentina
and will use some of his pools winnings to fund a trip out
there.
