Letitia
on Road to Recovery
LITTLE Letitia Brown was only 18-months-old when she suffered
horrific burns after an accident at home.
Now,
just over two years later, she is well down the road to recovery,
although she will remain scarred for the rest of her life,
having sustained 30 per cent burns.
Doctors
at Glasgow’s Yorkhill Hospital have performed more than 30
painful operations on her to graft and repair the skin on
her hands, waist and legs. And so grateful are her family
towards the staff at Yorkhill that they are holding a series
of fundraising events in order to raise much-needed extra
cash for the hospital.
The
latest, a bingo night, will take place tomorrow (Friday) at
the Coronation Day Centre in Stranraer at 7.30 p.m. Local
businesses have been generously donating the prizes which
should ensure the night is a success and ferry company Stena
have donated a family day return ticket to Belfast.
