West Sound Roadshow

WEST SOUND Radio are planning a massive open-air roadshow which will be held in Stranraer.

The "Free Press" can exclusively announce that the event will take place in the town’s Agnew Park on Saturday, 11th August.

Plans are still at an early stage but organisers believe that the show could attract upwards of the gigantic 7000 crowd who came to a similar event four years ago.

Scotland Against Drugs are backing this summer’s show which is to have a "healthy lifestyles" theme.

They are providing cash support believed to run into several thousands of pounds and the actual organisation of the event is now being co-ordinated by West Sound radio and the Wigtownshire Drug Forum.

The "Free Press" understands that up-and-coming singer David Graham — who wowed Wigtownshire audiences a couple of months ago with a series of local concerts — has been lined up to perform.
