Team missed Scottish Title
STRANRAER Academy’s young enterprise company have narrowly
missed out on claiming the Scottish title of Young Enterprise
Company of the Year.
The
news came as the company was wound-up to mark the end of its
trading period.
The
Blue Midgies, as the group named themselves, won the Ayrshire
and South-West Scotland section of the competition earlier
in the year.
And
this week, they learned that they finished second overall
in Scotland — an achievement which has surpassed their boldest
expectations.
Producing
two products, a CD clock and a book entitled "Short Stories
for Big Imaginations," the group had a tremendous year.
Under
the guidance of managing director, pupil Malcolm Harvey, they
planned and executed all the functions associated with a full-scale
business.
