TV again in Portlogan

TELEVISION cameras are set to roll again in Portlogan later this year with the filming of a second series of the hit BBC Drama "2000 Acres of Sky".

Ahead of an official announcement, the "Free Press" can exclusively reveal that another series has already been provisionally agreed and is now at the planning stage.

Representatives of London-based production company, Zenith Entertainments, are expected in Portlogan this week to begin making arrangements for filming.

And an official announcement from the BBC is also expected within the next few days which will confirm that the television people are coming back to South-West Scotland for the second year in succession.

The first series has been a ratings success and this is thought to have paved the way for a follow-up. Production of a major TV series brings with it welcome inward investment and a boost to the tourist trade. And this time it is hoped that Portlogan will be clearly promoted as the scene of filming.
