New Depute Rector

STRANRAER ACADEMY’S new Depute Rector has told the “Free Press” she is “thoroughly looking forward to taking up the challenging position” at the school.

Emma Neil (46) currently assistant headteacher at Ayr Academy will take-up her new post after the summer holiday following on from Marilyn Barbour who left for Wallace Hall Academy in December.

Whilst visiting Stranraer on Wednesday Ms Neil, a business studies teacher, said

“I have been to the Academy three times now and love the new building. The staff have been really welcoming and I am thoroughly looking forward to taking up the challenging position at this big school”.

Rector Jimmy Higgins is delighted to have secured Ms Neil’s services. “First impressions seem very favourable. She seems very keen and enthusiastic” said Mr Higgins.
