Beef Recipe
STRANRAER
BUTCHER Ian Jack has struck gold with one of his beef recipes.
Now
he is hoping that it will take Britain by storm.
From
the premises of Alex Jack (Butchers) Ltd. in Bridge Street,
Ian produced his own distinctive Beef Wellington.
It
was good enough to beat every other of the 200 butchers who
entered a "Make it with Meat" event organised by
Quality Meat Scotland and the Scottish Federation of Meat
Traders.
Now
he is putting it forward in the Smithfield Awards run by Q
Guild Butchers organisation of which he is a member.
Similar
success there could mean the recipe featuring in the BBC Good
Food magazine.
Three
out of his four entries in the Scottish contest won awards
his shish kebabs and roulade of pork gained silvers.
