Busy Bees Thank You

CHILDREN at the Busy Bees Nursery this week said a big "thank you" to readers of the "Free Press" following a magnificent response to their appeal for help.

Last week, we reported how thieves broke in to the Stranraer nursery and cleared it out. The heartless bandits stole every electrical item they could lay their hands on, as well as sweets and cash.

Police this week announced they have arrested a man in connection with the break-in — with the good news that almost a full recovery of the stolen property has now been made.

The public were left appalled at the way thieves left three and four year-olds at the nursery in a state of shock after the break-in.

Stolen were a haul of the nursery’s resources, including a Time computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse and webcam; camera; CD player and combined television and a video unit.

Staff launched an appeal for information on the robbery as well as a plea for the return of the camera which contained an almost-used 36 exposure film featuring irreplaceable pictures of the children playing.

Now, following a series of tip-offs by disgusted "Free Press" readers, most of the items have been located. The nursery now face an anxious wait to find out if they are still in good working order.
