Men Held on Drugs Charges
THREE
Wigtownshire men have been remanded in custody charged with
heroin-dealing following a series of drugs raids on Friday
morning.
And
another seven men, six of whom come from Stranraer, were released
from court on bail on Monday, having been arrested in the
dawn raids which have been dubbed Operation Emperor
Phase Two.
John
Ringland and Norman Allison of Stranraer and Wigtown man Alan
Saunders were remanded in custody at the Stranraer Sheriff
Court at the instance of prosecutors. All three have been
charged with dealing heroin in and around Stranraer.
In
total, ten men were arrested on Friday as one hunded police
officers, some carrying firearms, carried out a series of
raids at a number of addresses throughout South-West Scotland.
Those
arrested were held in custody until they appeared before Sheriff
James R. Smith in private on Monday afternoon.
