Powerlifter
Strikes Gold!
WIGTOWNSHIRE
powerlifter Raymond Fraser has won his second world championship
in four years.
And
he travelled all the way to Argentina to strike gold.
Raymond
(53), a joiner with Robison and Davidson, lives at 22 Oakland
Avenue, Stranraer.
To
compete in the Masters 2 67.5 kilo class, he travelled for
40 hours from Stranraer until he was able to get some sleep
in Cordoba, where the championships were held.
This
week, Raymond told the 'Free Press' that after a disastrous
start in the squat he had to produce good results in the other
two disciplines.
And
he did.
His
bench press and then his speciality the dead lift, sent him
soaring into the gold medal position.
