Wedding
Taken to Granny
JULIE
RUTHERFORD wanted her granny at her wedding.
But,
Mrs Jessie Carnochan, a resident at Thorneycroft, Stranraer,
can no longer get about.
So
Julie decided to take the wedding to her.
And,
thanks to the staff at Thorneycroft, that is exactly what
happened.
And
for the first time, a wedding took place in the Centre with
Julie marrying Kenny Owenson, of Roslin, near Edinburgh.
The
ceremony, which was attended by residents, staff and close
family, was conducted by Rev Emeritus William Hannah, a close
family friend. Bridesmaid was Wendy Milne and the groomsman
was Kevin Rutherford, sister and brother of the bride.
The
wedding cake was cut at Thorneycroft and distributed to the
assembled relatives and guests and toasts were made.
The
family then rounded-off a lovely day with a buffet meal at
the North West Castle Hotel.
